SEVENTEEN To Attend UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador Appointment Ceremony Today (Jun 26th)

According to Pledis Entertainment on June 26th, SEVENTEEN will attend the appointment ceremony for UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France at 5:30 p.m. on the same day.
At this ceremony, the members will receive the letter of appointment from UNESCO Secretary-General Audrey Azoulay and deliver a 10-minute acceptance speech. The group and Secretary-General Audrey Azoulay will also have a short conversation before the appointment ceremony.
SEVENTEEN will become the first K-pop artist to become an official Goodwill Ambassador for UNESCO. This is also the first time that UNESCO has appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for Youth, a Priority Group.

Pledis explained, “UNESCO appoints people with world-renowned reputations from various fields as goodwill ambassadors. This is to increase global awareness and encourage participation in UNESCO’s ideals and activities”.
Foreign media are also paying keen attention to the appointment. US music magazine Billboard wrote, “SEVENTEEN can add another honor to their long list of accomplishments”. British music magazine CLASH quoted Secretary-General Audrey Azoulay, saying “SEVENTEEN has delivered inspiration and support to young people around the world with their music and positive energy”.
Leading French daily newspaper Le figaro introduced SEVENTEEN as “one of the most popular groups in the world”, highlighting their appointment as UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador. Another local weekly newspaper Paris Match said, “SEVENTEEN formed great empathy with CARAT through their music. They have established themselves as world-class superstars with their sincerity and talents”.
Today (June 26th), the appointment ceremony for UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador with SEVENTEEN’s attendance will air live on UNESCO’s official YouTube channel.
